A Small Miracle!
This was on our drive home from visiting with Papa Wade. It's been a long 2 days, about 5-6 hours in the car each day, no nap on Saturday, sleeping in a strange place and spending the days in an unfamiliar place. You have been great! You fought falling asleep in the car though. I tried to help you, but all it was doing was distracting you. So I had to leave you alone, which caused you to cry. You finally fell asleep. It breaks my heart when you cry, but that's what you have to do sometimes in order to fall asleep! I love you little man!
Burgerville Chocolate Shakes!
Boy oh Boy! Are you your father's son, or what! You loved this chocolate hazelnut shake! I could distract you from it very easily! This was taken as our last stop in Oregon on our way home from visiting with Papa Wade!

Road trip to Oregon!
We left early this morning to go to Oregon to see your Papa Wade. You have not seen him since you were 2 months old. He just got transferred to Oregon from California, so it'll be much easier to go see him more often now! I didn't take very many pictures of the trip. There are no cameras allowed inside so you'll have to use your imagination!
We stayed with Uncle Nick and Aunt Kim, and we also got to see our cousin Tori. You did great sleeping in a strange place, and you even got along with their dog pretty good!
Visiting with Papa went better than I thought. There was a play area with toys and blocks that you could play with. You did get pushed around by the other kids a little, and you liked to throw the trucks over the tables which made a loud noise! There is a big red line on the ground that goes in front of the vending machines and the bathrooms that you liked to walk on and there was also another small girl that you were flirting a lot with!
Papa gave you a back rub and you liked that a lot! You had to warm up to him, like you do with anybody, but I think by the time we left you were a lot more comfortable with him! He kept saying what a beautiful baby you are! I think so too!

Eating
Here you are eating with a spoon. You are getting pretty good at it. I have a hard time keeping you in your high chair to eat. You like to be active and moving around. So I let you eat with me usually. That way you can come take a bite and go back to what you are doing. This way you actually eat, and it saves me a world of frustration trying to get you to eat!

While Momma's Away the Boys Will Play!
I left the house for only a few minutes, and I guess it went fine, but right as I was getting home you got into the tooth picks. They were EVERYWHERE! I showed you how to clean them up and you helped to put them away. You would put about 10 in before you were trying to take them out again, then I would have to show you again and you would start cleaning again.

Grandma Sue's Cat
We have been going over to see Grandma Sue and Grandpa Charlie about once a week. She has a cat, and you LOVE cats. This cat is gentle with you... most of the time. Sometimes she gets a little too playful and we have to be careful because she still has her front claws. But for the most part you 2 do well together. She knows to run from you though if you have a ball or balloon in your arms! Then she runs under the couch and you go looking for her yelling "CAT". It is quite hilarious. Someday I see us getting you a cat, but it is going to take a lot convincing your Dad.

Little Rocker Dude!
The Rocker style of the 1990's has come back.... plaid.... so you fit right in! And by the time you read this I'm sure your father will have indoctorinated you into the world of rock, so you will already know this, but I'll put it in here anyways. Dave Grohl is one of the best drummers ever. He was the drummer for Nirvana, and now the singer for Foo Fighters (your Dad's favorite band). So that is why your shirt says "Rock 'n Grohl".
Sorry kiddo! There's not much hope!

PILLOW FIGHT!
Your Dad thought it would be a good idea to teach you how to pillow fight. I'm not really sure why, but it was fun! But now you have the tendency to throw pillows on Mommy's head, or at the dogs. And you've even gone as far as to throw some toys at your cousins heads. So we have to rein this one in a little.

Trying so hard to get you to say Football
Not only are you super adorable wearing the "Rock 'n Grohl" t-shirt that Nana got you, but you are also so cute when you say football. You don't actually say "foot", but you stpom your feet, then you say "ball". In your mind it makes perfect sense! That is foot ball.
I love the mohawk!

A Few Days Stuck at Home
On Tuesday this week you got a fever. You were so miserable. We were able to stay home all day so you could get your rest. You loved the essential oils today. I think you knew that they were helping you.
I had to help you sleep, which then made you want me to sleep with you for the next couple of days. When you are sleepy, you sure love to snuggle. We got the camping pads and put them in your bedroom on the floor, that way I could come in if you needed me. We both ended up sleeping on it on wednesday night. You were having what seemed to be night frights, or anxiety. Something..... so I stayed with you and you slept fine.
By Wednesday your fever was gone, but we didn't have anywhere that we needed to be so we just stayed home. We played in your room with "Baby Signing Time" playing on the TV. I was able to get you to say "tree" "day" and "horse" then you also signed "flower" and "leaf". You are getting to the point that if I ask you to say it you will atleast try, even if it doesn't sound anything like it. And if I grabbed your hands and show you how to sign something then you will repeat it.
You are growing so fast. Your 2T pajamas all of the sudden fit you, they used to be so baggy, and we had to put socks on so the footies wouldn't fall off your feet. But now they fit. Soon enough they'll be too small.
You are really good at puzzles, both real ones and virtual ones. You play on the iphone or nook and put puzzles together!
What will be next.....? I'm excited to find out!

Taking Big Steps!
You took some big steps today! We've had a little bedtime routine lately. We go in your room, sit in your glider, read you a book, give you a bottle, say our prayers, give kisses, then we put you in your crib and you snuggle up with your bears. You have 2 bears. One is Boo Bear, which is the bear that you Dad has had since he was born. And the second bear is the bear that Daddy proposed to mommy with. It has a zipper that had the ring in it! We call him Benny!
Buy since the holidays are over and we can get into a normal routine again, I have taken the bottle out of the equation. I tried it for your nap first, and you did great. Almost like that is what you've been wanting. And we tried again tonight for bedtime, and again not a peep from you. I am thankful that you have never been super attached to things. You adjust easily!
You have a mild fever tonight. I hate it when you don't feel good. It breaks my heart. But we lathered you up with essential oils. So I am hoping you'll be feeling better tomorrow.
Some more words that you have started to say:
Duck (dut)
All done (dunt)
Laura (rora)
Bye-bye
Two
And you have tried to say three and moose, but you kind of just yell some thing but we know what you're trying to say "two, three" and "duck, duck, moose"

A very rare moment
You hardly ever (and by hardly ever, I mean never) sleep anywhere but your crib. You've been having a hard time taking naps longer than 1 1/2 hours. You should be sleeping for at least 2 if not even 3 hours. But for some reason at 1 1/2 hours you wake up. Daddy got you and brought you to the couch. We had football on, which has become a very familiar sound to you, and you fell back asleep. It didn't last for long, but the fact that you did this at all we were very impressed! And your Daddy was soaking up every moment! You are precious!
Pro at the drums!
You love that Daddy set up his drums. You play like a pro! You have already kept a steady beat on the high hat while also hitting the snare! You have a natural talent!

The Tooth Brush Fanatic
The one thing that you do everyday, multiple times a day is brush your teeth. You know right where to go. You open the drawer and find the tooth brushes.... You only have about 5 of them!
